My name is Mrs. Simpson.  I am the Advanced Academics teacher at BBES.  Our program consists of thematic units that provide enrichment activities for our students.     Museums and Art We are having a wonderful time learning about artist and time period.  So far we have created mosaics, detailed drawings from the Renaissance, pointillism and collages and we are currently working on a sculpture.   4th and 5th grade students will participate in a video conference on Tuesday, October 25th with the Cleveland Museum of Fine Arts in a lesson about contemporary art work.         This year the students will be participating in Future Problem Solving.  This is a fantastic program that has been around for 25 years.  We will be participating in the curricular division. Our first "Fuzzy" has arrived for Climate Change and Climate Threat.  It is going to be a great topic to talk and learn about since so much has been happening in our area this year. The students will learn the 6 steps involved in Future Problem Solving. Brainstorming Challenges Identifying an Underlying Problem Brainstorming Alternate Solutions Creating Criteria for Evaluating Solutions Evaluate Solutions Describe an Action Plan This is a great program to take part in and I know the students will truly enjoy it.
