Jean Crawford Assistant Principal Bear Branch Elementary Magnolia ISD 281-356-4771 Welcome to my web page!  I am looking forward to an exciting year.  The first nine weeks we will be studying Language skills, Spelling, Writing, and Handwriting. I am excited about our three way rotation with Mr. Smith and Ms. Buchholz.  We are each teaching to our strengths as a teacher.  The kids are really doing a great job with each rotation. Wow! I can't believe how organized they have been these first few days of school. Keep up the great work!! Our class will be doing several writings also.  We will start a writing paper titled "All About Me".  Next, we will be working on  a descriptive narrative.  Please work with your child on describing things in details. Your help will be greatly appreciated, and it will help them when it comes to our Writing TAKS test in February. HOMEWORK!!!!!  We do ask our students to read 20 minutes at home for homework.  They will be asked to take A.R. tests as proof of their reading.  They should also be studying spelling words Monday - Thursday.  Ms. Buchholz also gives math homework  Monday - Thursday.  Their homework should only take about 45 minutes or less to complete.  If they are bringing more work home, it is because they did not finish it in class, and they may not be spending their class time wisely.
