(location, place, movement, interaction, region) We will be holding our class Geography Bee today. The school Geography Bee will be held Tuesday, January 11th in the MJHS library. Good luck to all! We will also be beginning our study of Chapter 11, “Immigration and Migration to Texas: 1836-1861” pp256-273. We will be using chapter and section summary reading and question sheets from the Guide to the Essentials, as well as other resources to cover this chapter.

Write a song about any person or event in unit 3. The song may be set to any type of music. Possible choices include a ballad, rock and roll, blues, or rap. You may perform your song for the class or tape your performance. You may work with a partner or a small group of not more than 4. Sites to use include: www.dogpile.com, www.google.com, www.askjeeves.com, or any other search engine. Since these are search engines, students will need to put in search parameters. http://teacher.scholastic.com/activities/hispanic/index.htm may also be used. When all 20 questions are answered and turned in to the Teacher, students may go to the above sight and click on “Piñata Concentration Game”. Students will learn some Spanish words from this game.
