Welcome to the 2006-2007 School Year!
Our theme at NSE this year is:
Our Children Our School Our Success
As we continue our work towards this goal the expectations will continue to rise. Our teachers and our students are very capable of high quality work and we will continue to expect the best from our students. We will ask parents to continue their unending support of quality education by helping the students in 3rd-5th checking their student planners, do their homework and read each evening. In our younger grades we will ask parents to practice sight words, read to your students, read with your students, complete all homework and check and sign Tuesday / Daily folders. We all have such a big job to do as we educate our precious children ... We know we can do it together!
Safety Reminders and Guidelines:
1. No child may be dropped off in the front of the building before 7:30 a.m. Staff is not on duty before then. You may apply and pay for early morning child care by dropping your child off in the back parking lot and walking them into the cafeteria between 6:45-7:30 a.m.
2. Please do not park and walk in to the school or on the porch area during car rider dismissal. It is dangerous for the children to cross traffic and it is difficult for the staff to be sure the person getting the children is authorized to pick them up. It is important to display your child's name on the paper plate that Mrs. Corgey provided to car riders earlier this year. This procedure helps the line move quickly and we know that a parent or guardian is picking up the child. These new car rider procedures are only in place for the protection of our students. We appreciate your support and cooperation.
3. All adults who enter our campus MUST check-in and sign-in at the front office before they go to any area of the school. A picture ID must be shown and copied.
4. Please send any change of transportation notes to school with your child. We can not any transportation changes after 2:30 p.m., and in order to verify parent request we must have a note before 2:30 to make those transportation changes happen before the end of the school day. ***** Please refer the pages 18-19 in the Student Handbook for more information.
5. We have provided a Guest Table for parents and their child to eat lunch together. Your child may bring one friend to eat with them if they would like to. This Guest Table helps with the space at the cafeteria tables and help ensure confidentially at school.
Your help and support on all these safety issues is greatly appreciated!
