Wonderful Things are Happening in Science!

August 2006
Unit One: "Introductory Module"
Students will:
        -become familiar with the school and class rules
        -learn about lab safety and lab procedures  
        -become familiar with lab equipment
        -learn how to properly use the equipment
        -be introduced to the scientific process skills
        -investigate the skill of observation
        -be able to differentiate between qualitative and quantitative observations
        -be able to differentiate between identifying and controlling variables
        -discover the necessity to control variables to achieve reliable results
        -use variable control to recognize a pattern of results through repeated trials
        -investigate the process skills of classification and prediction
        -design a chart to organize, analyze, and interpret data

On the first test, "Introductory Module Assessment" students will demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of the concepts, skills, and vocabulary covered in the Introductory Module.  A date will be posted for this test as soon as possible.
